A live sampling effect using a polyphonic audio slicing algorithm. Here’s an impression on what it sounds like on a Juno60 synthesizer. The effect buffers the live audio input and creates a slice for every key that you press. Every key can have a different loop length making it easy to create polyrhythms. Slices are modulated with amplitude and filter envelopes to create movement. It sounds a bit like a mixture of filtered delay and beat repeat, and I found it very capable of creating dense textures and rythmic patterns
The core is developed in C++ as a set of Max externals. Further development is needed to make it more controllable and intuitive, after which I would like to release it as a Max4Live instrument.
